About the newsletter

Hello everyone,

I have decided to discontinue the newsletter. My newsletter
provider made a lot of changes to the control panel and whole
process of preparing the newsletter. And it won’t even work
right in the Firefox browser, which is my browser of choice,
so I have to use Internet Explorer to get past the first few
steps of preparing the newsletter.

So I decided that I didn’t need it anymore and closed my account.
I will be blogging from now on, plus I will be on my new Crafts
Forum at http://innerconnections.yuku.com/forums/109
and the old forum at
http://pub44.bravenet.com/forum/3703436600

I should of sent one last newsletter out to let everyone know
that it was being discontinued, but I didn’t want to go through
the bother of trying to figure out the new control panel again.
So I thought I would just post about it here.

Have a fun and safe Halloween everyone!

Sincerely,

Sue Norrad

Hi Sue!
Just came upon your crocheting and knitting site after doing a search on crocheting moccasin slippers!! I LOVE the pattern you offer :) My husband wants me to make him these slippers but I am just wondering about the size and gauge. Would the extra large gauge work for a size 12 in mens? How many more stitches should I add if not?
Again, thank you! Great site!

Hi Annemarie. The extra large should fit a foot that is 11 inches. So just measure his foot, and if it's larger add 2 more stitches to fit a 11 and 3/4 inch foot, 2 more stitches would fit a 12 and a half inch foot. Remember that the yarn will stretch some too, so take that into consideration. I hope this helps, and good luck with the pattern!

Dear Sue,

My name is Carmen, I am from Bucharest, Romania, and I started to knit slippers after seeing your pattern on www.crochetandknitting.com. The knitted mocassin slippers are adorable, only that I have a problem: you said the size you made was for a 9 1/2 foot, this means 24,13 cm, like my size (6.5US). But after I knitted it, the slipper was so small that it could fit to my little girl... I started another one for my father, who is 42EU, but I don;t know how to measure size for it. If you can explain, please do. Lots of thanks, Carmen.

Hi Carmen. This pattern is made by working with 2 strands of worsted weight yarn. Are you sure you were using two strands? If not, they would of came out very small. Also the gauge is 4 sts = 1 inch. So do a test piece to see if you get 4 stitches to the inch. If so, they should work out correct to fit a 9.5 inch foot. For every half inch larger add 4 stitches as that will add 2 stitches on each side of the foot and makes the slipper length a half inch longer. For every inch larger add 8 stitches as that will add 4 stitches on each side of the foot and makes the slipper length an inch longer. I hope this helps.
